Legacy Build Casino Night set to raise funds for Habitat Hamilton’s next home build

(September 27, 2019—Hamilton, ON) – Mark your calendars for Habitat for Humanity Hamilton’s unique and one-time-only gala, the Legacy Build Casino Night! Co-hosted with Hamilton-Halton Construction Association (HHCA), this year’s gala is a casino-themed fundraising event, including a dinner, dance, and games of chance! The evening will also include some high value and one-of-a-kind raffle and silent auction prizes.

“As a socially responsible corporate citizen, Cogeco supports the economic health and well-being of the communities it operates, providing powerful and genuine connections to our customers. Supporting the Legacy Build by becoming the presenting sponsor of the upcoming gala enables us to help build strength and stability through shelter, here in the Hamilton community,” says Chris Kay, Senior Director of Sales at Cogeco Connexion.

All proceeds generated from the Legacy Build Casino Night will support Habitat Hamilton’s upcoming home build in the city’s downtown core, with home title sponsor HHCA fundraising $200,000, in celebration of its centennial celebrations in 2020.

“Were really looking forward to our upcoming gala which happens to coincide with Habitat Hamilton breaking ground on the build we’re fundraising in support of,” says Sue Ramsay, General Manager of HHCA.  “Our fundraising goal is $200,000 and we’re hopeful our Legacy Build Casino Night will help push us past the halfway mark.”

The Legacy Build is a semi-detached, two-unit townhome directly supporting two future Habitat homeowner families. Work has already begun on this build, with environmental remediation currently underway. The Legacy Build is expected to be complete in autumn of 2020.

“We’re very excited for this casino night gala and the impact it will have on our Legacy Build,” says Habitat Hamilton’s Executive Director, Sean Ferris. “Attendees are in for a fantastic evening of food and merriment, but above and beyond this, the purchase of their event tickets is going to directly support our local communities, building strength, stability and self-reliance through homeownership.”

Habitat Hamilton builds homes via the combination of corporate gifts, donated materials, and volunteer support. To learn more about how you can help the Legacy Build, please visit our website.
