Reasons to Give

Every donation helps a family build a decent and affordable home. Your financial support will help bring independence to families in need of a decent place to live.

Below we’ve listed some reasons why making a donation to Habitat for Humanity Hamilton is a good idea:

• You’re supporting a local initiative that also has a global impact. Though we build exclusively throughout our affiliate region, we also make a match donation every time we complete a home. Every time a new homeowner moves into one of our homes, we make a donation to a developing country to help build a home for a family overseas.
• Your donation is making a strong social return on investment (SROI). An external report, completed by the Boston Consulting Group, concludes that each dollar donated to the Home Build Program generates an overall societal gain of $4. That’s what we call an investment with impact!
• 100% of your contribution is directly allocated to the Home Build Program. This means that 0% of your donation will be used to cover administrative or operational costs, all of which are covered by the Hamilton ReStore.
• You’ll receive a tax receipt, at the beginning of the new calendar year, for your gift.
