For Immediate Release

Hamilton, ON  – Habitat Hamilton is proud to announce that three of its dedicated volunteers—Cheryl, Steve, and Walt—have been awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of their exceptional service and contributions to the Hamilton community.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is Canada’s first-ever commemorative medal dedicated to a coronation, and it honours individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to community service. As part of the 30,000 individuals selected nationwide, Cheryl, Steve, and Walt have been nominated for their unwavering dedication to Habitat Hamilton’s mission of building stronger communities and improving lives through affordable housing initiatives.

“We are incredibly proud of Cheryl, Steve, and Walt for receiving this distinguished honor,” said Kathryn Fair, Director of Affiliate Operations and Volunteer Services at Habitat Hamilton. “Their hard work, passion, and commitment are inspiring. They represent the very best of what Habitat Hamilton stands for. While today we celebrate their achievements, we also want to express our gratitude to all of our volunteers who make a lasting difference in the lives of families across Hamilton.”

As part of the award ceremony, Cheryl, Steve, and Walt received their medals during a heartfelt presentation, where they were surrounded by fellow volunteers and staff members. Habitat Hamilton is honoured to recognize their service as part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to celebrating volunteerism and community engagement.

In addition to the three volunteers who received the King Charles III Coronation Medal, Habitat Hamilton continues to celebrate the hard work and contributions of all volunteers, who play a vital role in supporting the organization’s Home Build Program and ReStores.

“Volunteers are the backbone of Habitat Hamilton,” said Sean Ferris, CEO at Habitat Hamilton. “Their generosity of time and spirit helps make our mission possible. We are grateful for the dedication of each volunteer and thank them for helping us build a stronger, more resilient Hamilton.”
