Habitat Haldimand County Chapter Launches Second Catch The Ace Lottery

After hosting an extremely successful Catch the Ace fundraiser in 2018, the Habitat Haldimand County Chapter is back, launching its second Catch the Ace Draw on Wednesday, January 23rd, at the Caledonia Legion. Founded in 2015, the Habitat for Humanity Haldimand County Chapter is currently fundraising, with hopes of breaking ground in the coming months, on their inaugural home build, located in Dunnville.

With a future Habitat homeowner selected and with land secured, the Haldimand County Chapter hopes to build fundraising momentum with its second Catch the Ace. “Last year, the lottery helped us raise approximately $30,000 for our home build in Dunnville. It brought many people together, raised awareness about our organization’s mission and it also helped support the broader community, boosting membership at our local Legion,” says Sid Drury, Chairman of the Haldimand County Chapter.

Players purchase tickets to be entered into a draw to win cash. In Catch the Ace, one person walks away with 20% of the proceeds from the weekly draw, with the chance to also take home the 30% progressive pot. In order to win the progressive pot, the player must select an envelope containing the ace of spades from a standard deck of playing cards.

Tickets are 1 for $10 and 3 for $20 and can be purchased beginning January 22 on Tuesday’s from 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Dunnville Legion and on Wednesday’s from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Caledonia Legion. The weekly draw time is 8:30pm, each Wednesday, at the Caledonia Legion. The winner does not need to be in attendance for a chance to win the jackpot. Haldimand County Chapter’s Catch the Ace lottery updates will be posted weekly to its Facebook page.
