Funding the Habitat Haldimand County Chapter Build

The Habitat for Humanity Haldimand County Chapter has recently launched new partnerships with Haldimand Insurance Brokers and with The Gore Mutual Foundation, working together to end the cycle of poverty for one deserving and hard-working local family. Founded in 2015, the Habitat for Humanity Haldimand County Chapter is currently fundraising, with hopes of breaking ground in the coming months, on their inaugural home build.

The Habitat Haldimand County Chapter is in the midst of selecting a family for the home, with a property already secured in the Dunnville community. Working under the mantra of providing “a hand up, not a handout,” the selected family will receive an interest-free and geared-to-income mortgage. The partner family will also be required to contribute 500 hours of volunteer time in lieu of a traditional down payment. A decent home gives a family the strength, stability and independence they need, in order to create a better life for themselves and their families.

“We’re incredibly humbled and honoured by the response from local community members and businesses. This new home will not only help a local family in need, but it will also bring our communities closer together,” says Sid Drury, Chairman (volunteer) of the Haldimand County Chapter.

The Habitat for Humanity Haldimand County Chapter is currently seeking skilled-trades pro-bono volunteer support as well as donated materials and monetary contributions from local businesses and community members. To learn more about how you can support the Dunnville Home Build, please contact the Habitat for Humanity Haldimand County Chapter for more information.
Volunteer-led, all donations made to the Habitat Haldimand County Chapter will be directly allocated to the Home Build Program in Dunnville.
