Habitat for Humanity Hamilton is humbled and excited to host its Family & Friends Reunion Celebration this Saturday, June 4th, at Confederation Park’s Edgewater Pavilion. The event is open to all Habitat Hamilton supporters, donors, volunteers, partner families and friends. The reunion will include a BBQ, accompanied by engaging activities for children as well as an abundance of games and good fun for the kids in all of us.
“We wanted to take a step back this year to recognize the two major milestones our affiliate is celebrating this year: our 25th anniversary as an affiliate here in Hamilton as well as the 10th anniversary of our ReStore” says Sean Ferris, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Hamilton.
Habitat Hamilton will complete a three-unit townhome this summer located in Hamilton’s Keith Neighbourhood for three very deserving and hard-working families. In the new school year, they will relaunch build efforts on three single-unit homes, located in the Hamilton Beach Community, with the support of OYAP secondary students as well as students from Mohawk’s Production Framing and Building Renovation Pre-Apprenticeship Program.
This year also marks the launch of Habitat for Humanity Hamilton’s inaugural signature event, Redefining Hamilton, on Friday, October 21st at Tim Hortons Field. As the first gala-styled event to take place in the City’s new stadium, the event has already earned itself the tagline, “this isn’t your typical gala.”
“We’re very grateful to have so many incredible opportunities this year. Not only do we get to celebrate our anniversaries with the supporters and families who help make the work we do possible, but we can also engage with the community in a really inspiring and meaningful way” says Paul Parker, Board Chair of Habitat for Humanity Hamilton.
It’s no doubt that this year is full of celebrations and new beginnings for Habitat for Humanity Hamilton. Anyone interested in learning more about how to get involved are requested to contact the affiliate at 905-560-6707 ext. 102 or at volunteers@ebapi.ca.
