"Old kitchens build dream homes at Habitat for Humanity ReStore"

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Just in time for the spring reno season, the April 8th Ancaster News, Dundas Star News, and Mountain News profiled the Habitat ReStore's successful kitchen recycling program, and its new electronics recycling program.

Whether you're looking for an economical kitchen upgrade or trying to keep your old cabinets and countertops out of the landfill, the ReStore may have a solution.

If you have an old kitchen to dispose of, you could qualify for free removal and a tax receipt. And, if you buy your supplies at the ReStore, you'll get a good deal and not pay any GST.

Before your next trip to the ReStore, round up those old electronics (batteries, computer and gaming gear, phones, TVs and other home entertainment components, etc.). Leave your e-waste with us, and we'll make sure it gets recycled responsibly.

Whether you donate unneeded materials, buy your supplies, or recycle your electronics at the ReStore, you'll be helping Habitat Hamilton's efforts to build affordable housing in the city.

This year's project — eight new townhouse units in the Keith Neighbourhood, at the site of the former Robert Land School (Wentworth Street, between Barton and Burlington Streets) — will be particulary exciting. Stay tuned for more news on this project!
