Haldimand County is a rural municipality of 484 square miles on the Niagara Peninsula of Southern Ontario, bounded by the north shore of Lake Erie, and with the Grand River running through several towns.
In response to inquiries and the interest of local residents, Habitat for Humanity Canada recognized Haldimand County as an area with chapter status in 2015. Soon after, Habitat for Humanity Haldimand Chapter was founded under the guidance of Habitat for Humanity Hamilton.
Volunteer-led, the Habitat for Humanity Haldimand Chapter has secured its first property in Dunnville, with plans to build a single-unit dwelling, scheduled to be complete by 2020. The volunteer committee is working hard to assist families in Haldimand, building strength, stability and self-reliance through homeownership.
The Haldimand Chapter builds inclusive and engaged communities by bringing together diverse groups of volunteers to work together to improve our communities throughout Haldimand County.
The Haldimand Chapter is in constant need of dedicated and hardworking volunteers from the Haldimand County region. Visit myvolunteerpage.com to complete the required volunteer training and to view upcoming volunteer opportunities.
