On June 13th we passed the building inspection for Unit 8, the barrier free unit.  Dry walling will begin this weekend, we future opportunities for volunteers to undertaking the painting, trim, flooring and final details.  Outside work in also underway as the work on the sheds, fencing and sod will provide skills training for those volunteers looking to add this to their list of accomplishments.  Special thanks to G Mason Construction who donated the topsoil to prepare the site for " backyard living" for our partner families.

Our must-see page is the Volunteer Hub , which has an updated list of all our current volunteer opportunities.  If you do not have an existing account, you will be asked to first set up an individual one, prior to being able to sign in as part of the Habitat volunteer movement.

Another constantly changing part of the site is the ReStore information. From current sale items to new shipments, you will find all the information you need to make your home improvement project “quality at a discount price”.

HOMEOWNERSHIP IS POSSIBLE !!

 

New homes for hardworking Hamilton families, in partnership with Habitat, are located at 19 Niagara Street. This four unit townhouse complex will feature three units each of approximately 1325 sq. feet, while the fourth unit has 1270 sq. feet of space, suitable for a family with barrier-free issues.

These are all new-build homes incorporating energy efficient building practices and materials that come complete with four appliances.

Mortgages are held by Habitat Hamilton, and your monthly payments, based on your household income, are no more than 25 percent.  This does not include other homeownership costs such as insurance, taxes and monthly utilities.

Attend a Family Selection Session, to pick up an application and submit in confidence to our office for consideration. Please consult the basic Partner Family Requirements, but remember that each case is different, and specific questions can only be addressed by a member of the Family Services Committee.
